Our Cruise Package Includes the following spectacular land discovery tours:
From Quebec City: Walking Tour. We'll start out with a nicely paced walking tour into the lower town neighborhood in Quebec, also known as Basse Ville. Pass by Palace Royale, the city's most impressive square. We'll also walk along the pedestrian-only street, Petit-Champlain and see the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires church. Our knowledgeable guide will point out all things of interest and answer any questions. We will continue to the famous funicular (inclined railway) and ride into Upper Town. Here we will see La Place d'Armes (Army Square), where it's not uncommon to see street performers and musicians. See also La Terrasse Dufferin and Place l'Hotel de Ville with the impressive City Hall right in front of it. We will conclude the walking portion of this tour by visting Le Musee des Ursulines. The Ursulines founded the first school for girls in North America and this fascinating museum illustrates the life and work of these women pioneers, teachers and artists.
From Halifax Bay of Fundy High Tides & Estate Wine Tour: We'll be greeted at the pier by our guide, and then make our way to the first stop of the day in the town of Windsor, originally known as Pisiquid, to view the tidal flats. One of the principal reasons Windsor was settled by the British was to monitor the Acadians in Grand Pré. This is a very cool area and we'll learn all about its history. Next, we will continue on our trip through the heart of Annapolis farmland all the way to the Lookoff. From here our views of the Annapolis Valley will be amazing! On the Fundy side of the North Mountain is Hall’s Harbor. This small fishing village is one of the best places to see the evidence of the highest recorded tides in the world. At low tide the wharf is high and dry while fishing boats wait patiently on the harbor bottom for the tide to rise and take them out to sea again. We will have time to explore the area and then we'll enjoy a fresh 1.25 pound lobster lunch (included) with choice of potato, roll, coleslaw, tea, coffee or soft drink, plus a yummy dessert! We continue to the Gaspereau Winery, on the south side of South Mountain. This is one of the younger wineries in the Annapolis valley. Known as a boutique winery, it is set on the slopes of Gaspereau Valley and creates premium estate-grown and limited edition wines that reflect the care and passion of the owners. Here we will have time to taste a number of these wines plus a premium tasting (included). Later back to the pier.
From Bar Harbor: Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park: We'll start off this wonderful tour by getting to know the historic district of Bar Harbor. We'll drive around Old Bar Harbor and then we're off to the top of Cadillac Mountain! Cadillac Mountain is 1530 feet high, which provides stunning 360 degree views of the island and even our ship in the harbor. Next it's Sieur de Monts Springs to view the lovely nature center and gardens. We'll also see Bear Brook which is a large beaver pond with lots of lodges and dams, Precipice Cliffs with its 1000 foot open cliff range and peregrin falcons and Sand Beach's beautiful pink sand surrounded by rocky cliffs! We're then off to Thunder Hole which is a naturally carved granite inlet that explodes as the water rushes in, Otter Cliffs and Jordan Pond. We will also see the famous Asticou and Thuya Gardens, hidden treasures the bus tours are not allowed to go to. View the mansions of Bar Harbor, Seal Harbor and Northeast Harbor.
