Your choice of one of the following:
- Venice through the Eyes of Poets & Writers. The lives and experiences of some of Venice's most distinguished visitors, such as Byron, Ruskin, Henry James, or Browning, can still reveal some of the city's hidden corners, while romance is brought vividly to life. Pass by the Salute church, described by James, and enter for a visit. Then make your way to the Palazzo Barbaro (Palazzo Leporelli in the "Wings of the Dove" by H. James, and also mentioned in Berendt's recent "The City of the Falling Angels"). Normal rate: $109 per person. Your price: free when you book with us.
- Half Day City Walking Tour of Dubrovnik. Enjoy a small-group tour with no more than 7 other people (total group no larger than 8 people). Your experienced guide will bring this ancient Medival city walled in white marble alive during your 4 hour tour. Among other things, during your walk you will see and hear about Onofrio's Large Fountain of 1444 and the small St. Saviour's Church, a simple Renaissance structure that influenced other church design. From the church you will take a narrow passageway to the Franciscan Monastery complex with its attached museum. Throughout your tour your guide will share stories of what the city was like during the war of 1991-1992, as you will find little that reminds you of that difficult time. The citizenry has worked hard to repair and replace the damage from that time. Normal rate: up to $267 per person. Your price: free when you book with us.
